Eastern Townships, Toronto and Niagara (Wonder Travel)

The Niagara Falls, located on the Niagara River draining Lake Erie into Lake Ontario, is the collective name for the Horseshoe Falls and the adjacent American Falls along with the comparatively small Bridal Veil Falls, which combined form the highest flow rate of any waterfall in the world and has a vertical drop of more than 165 feet (50 m). Horseshoe Falls is the most powerful waterfall (vertical height along with flow rate) in North America.[1] Niagara Falls forms the international border between the Canadian province of Ontario and the US state of New York, also forming the southern end of the Niagara Gorge. The falls are located 17 miles (27 km) north-northwest of Buffalo, New York and 75 miles (121 km) south-southeast of Toronto, between the twin cities of Niagara Falls, Ontario, and Niagara Falls, New York. The Eastern Townships (French: Cantons de l’Est) is a tourist region and a former administrative region in south-eastern Quebec, lying between the former seigneuries south of the Saint Lawrence River and the United States border. Its northern boundary roughly followed Logan’s Line or Logan’s Fault,[1] the geologic boundary between the flat, fertile St. Lawrence Lowlands and the Appalachian Mountains. The region comprises counties that were originally divided into townships after the traditional method of land grants of the original New England and New York settlers. Earlier French settlement along the Saint Lawrence River had divided the landscape into parishes

Five mates from Brisbane, just 5 hours from home hit the slopes at Mount Cheeseman. Watch them enjoy an epic day on the snow. Followed up by a cold beer at the onsite lodge nestled in the Alps of New Zealand’s South Island. Mount Cheeseman is one of the 13 ski areas in Canterbury.

I think that it may be easier to understand the spoken word in the seemingly “flat” American accent rather than the British accent. What an amazing idea to have the closed captioning in so many languages. I have dabble in Dutch lately and to the see the words of Bertie translated in Dutch is a most remarkable discovery for me! A thousand thank-you’s!

    Amazing Skier

Killington Vermont’s Bear mountain hosting Nationals. Crazy skiers go down Outer Limits (“Outer Limits” a double black diamond mogul trail that is the steepest mogul run in all of New England-Wikipedia) and go off jumps

    Article by Jeffrey

The Ski Card is a product of the company Premium Member Cards. They were founded 20 years ago in Killington, Vermont. Their primary product is the Exclusive Links Card, which offers discounts off rounds of golf at hundreds of courses up and down the east coast. In 2010, they launched The Ski Card, set up like the Links Card except it provides lift ticket discounts at over 40 Ski Mountains all over the Northeast.

The Ski Card features Ski Mountains and Resorts in Vermont, New York, Maine, New Hampshire, Massachusetts, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Virginia, and West Virginia. They also have recently added two mountains in Canada.

The card is sold for $ 39.00 on their website. If you purchase 4 or more cards you get $ 5.00 off each card. Also, 10% of each card sold is donated to the Winter Kids foundation, which helps children develop healthy lifelong habits through fun, outdoor winter activity. Upon purchasing the card, you may also sign up to receive the e-newsletter, which offers discounts on dining, lodging, packages, equipment, and other various promotions.

If you are trying to find cheap lift tickets in New England I think this discount card is a good solution. As an avid skier, who has lived in Vermont for 20 years, this is one of the best ways to receive discounted lift tickets that I have come across. It is very tough to consistently find good deals on lift tickets around New England. The Ski Card eliminates the search. It provides customers the opportunity to ski or snowboard multiple mountains without breaking the bank. I think this product is fairly priced considering the number of mountains featured on the card and the fact that it provides solid discounts as opposed to some of its competitors. It also stands out because purchasing the card automatically makes you a member for a full year from the date of purchase.

Start saving on your lift tickets today

Buy the Ski Card today for only !!!! That’s off the retail price!!!!Just enter the code JHAWK at checkout

April Snow and Discount Lift Tickets – Vlog 04 10 12

Some people just don’t know when to give up. With ski areas throughout the northeast closing early because of the warm temps and sparse crowds, three New England resorts announced they were continuing to make snow and would stay open until the end of April. Sugarloaf, Sunday River and Loon are all firing up the snow guns and running the lifts. The idea is to sell season passes for next season. The discounts are steep and a deposit gets you a 3-mountain all season pass. Speaking of discount tickets, there’s a website dedicated to the proposition that nobody should pay rack rate for lift tickets. It’s called Liftopia and we ran into them liftside in Lake Tahoe. Winter Park Resort is Colorado’s favorite. It is also Colorado’s best destination ski resort! Just a short drive from Denver and Denver International Airport, Winter Park beats all the rest in amount/quality of snow, family friendliness, difficulty and the variety of terrain and ease of access.

Lets start with how close Winterpark is to DIA and Denver. The Resort sits 62 miles from Denver’s western border as the crow flies. Drive time from central Denver is around 75 minutes in good traffic. From DIA the drive time is about 2 hours. Compared to resorts farther along the I-70 corridor Winter Park is much more accessible as the Eisenhower Tunnel does not need to be negotiated. Also, the Berthoud Pass road upgrade has been completed and the trip over is a breeze.

Winterpark: also the place to come for the family vacation. Lots and lots of family and kid friendly activities can be found here in this part of Grand County, Colorado.

The Fraser tubing hill, The Village ice skating pond, snow mobile rentals, snowshoeing just to name a few that are fun for the whole family.

With the most consistent snow in the Colorado Rockies, Winter Park also boasts more sunny days than any other resort in the state. Famous for its varied terrain, the resort is right for beginner to expert level skiers and snowboarders. With five interconnected mountains and three terrain parks, you are sure to have a perfect time at this activity-filled Colorado Rocky ski destination. There is plenty of lodging, with lodges, ski homes, vacation cabins, ski in and out condos, and bed & breakfasts , and at prices that correspond to everyone’s budget. Relax in a hot tub, sit by the fire, dine at one of the wonderful restaurants, watch the sunset from one of the village bars, and your vacation will be unmatched.

Snowfall averages for Winter Park are around 359 inches per year.

That is number one for destination resort in COLORADO. Vail is a close second, with 348 inches per year, but who can deal with the Vail attitude and prices? Here are the WP ski trail stats:

    Summit elevation: 10,700 feet
    Vertical drop: 1,700 feet
    Skiable acres: 2,762
    Trails: 134
    Lifts: 24
    Trail levels: All
    Average snowfall: 359

Come on up to Colorado’s Favorite: Winter Park Resort. For all your Winter Park ski lodging needs try the Winterpark Lodging Company.

What a banger! Once again, with the help of so many people, we transformed an urban alley into a winter playground, crushed 25 cases of ‘Gansett tall boys, and saw some of New England’s crispiest skiers and boarders compete for 00 in cash prizes. Audio McSwagger, Eyenine, DJ Myth, and Steve Ford kept the place bumpin and the booties shakin, and all we can say is we had a great time. Vitamin Water kept our hangovers minimal with pure hydration, and Swany gloves kept our hands fresh and warm. Thanks to everybody for coming out, we look forward to seeing you next year! Special thanks to Mike Steeves, Construction Master

Sunday River is one of the great ski resorts in the northeast area, and is usually very tranquil and serene during the summer months. However, for one weekend a year in the middle of July the resort and its surrounding forests come alive with sport exhausts and blow off valves. The New England Forest Rally, a championship event of the Rally America series, has made its way to the logging roads of Maine. This year, Veloz Media journeyed to Maine to support the efforts of Bill Bacon, a privateer who is in close competition with famous sponsored drivers like Travis Pastrana and Ken Block. With help of Ogden Medias principal, Chris Ogden, we were able not only to cover Bill Bacons VM-sponsored car, but also to capture some great footage of the entire event. In association with Rally America and the event organizers, Veloz Media produced a short video of the great racing that went on in the woods of Maine!
